The LACUS Excursion and Presidential Banquet are separate options, but this year they are both occurring on the same day in more or less the same location.
Excursion: to Black Creek Pioneer Village. This is an authentic replication of an early 19th-century Upper Canada village, with contemporary villagers and their animals, live demonstrations of local industries such as blacksmithing and beer brewing, etc. The entrance is within walking distance of the LACUS venue (3/4 of a mile as the crow flies), situated just across the West boundary of the York campus. Starting time is after lunch, Friday, August 10. The tickets are $15 ($14 for students with ID and for seniors 60+). Admission and Parking are Free with Paid Banquet Attendance.
Presidential Banquet: will be held this year in the Restaurant of the Black Creek Pioneer Village. Starting time is 5:30 PM for hors d'oeuvres and cash bar, 6:00 PM buffet, until 9:00 PM, Friday, August 10. Cost is $67.50 per person, which includes tax and service, plus free admission to Black Creek Pioneer Village and free parking. Please book in advance on the LACUS website.
